The Fairmont Waterfront - Property information

Join other guests for a jog along the Vancouver waterfront by signing up for a day with the The Fairmont Waterfront Running Club. Each Wednesday evening and Friday morning, runners of all levels meet in the hotel lobby for a 3–5 mile run. Complimentary towels and water bottles are provided.
  • Other on-site exercise options include Hatha Yoga, which is ideal for relaxation and relieving stress. This class is only $6 per session and welcomes all levels of experience each Tuesday and Thursday evening. Please sign up at the front desk upon arrival.
  • The Fairmont Waterfront recently employed a handsome, playful, four-legged employee to act as hotel ambassador. Morgan, the black Labrador retriever, greets guests outside the hotel lobby and accompanies them on strolls throughout the city. Morgan has received “The Royal Pat” from Her Royal Highness, Queen Elizabeth II, during her Royal Jubilee visit in October, 2002. Morgan works some doggone good shifts, from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, complete with morning and afternoon naps (he gets weekends off). Simply phone the front door to book a convenient time for walking or playing with Morgan. Morgan's services are complimentary. However, a “stoop and scoop” is often necessary during a walk. A puppy pack, complete with water, treats, and plastic bag, is provided by the hotel.
  • Located on the hotel's third-floor pool deck, The Fairmont Waterfront features a beautiful 2,100-square-foot herb garden with over 50 varieties of herbs. Designed by Merle Michale and planted by NorVan Landscape Design, Ltd. in 1995, the garden is irrigated and basks in the full sunlight. No herbicides or pesticides are used, and the garden has become a haven for small birds. A peregrine falcon visits occasionally to search for dinner. The culinary team enjoys creating a bouquet of herbal delights fresh from the garden, which is why guests find fresh basil, thyme, lemon grass, parsley, sage, chives and lavender in restaurant cuisine. Interpretive tours of the herb garden can be arranged through Heron's Restaurant. Have a budding question? The hotel’s floral expert is also available in the lobby area every Tuesday to answer your questions, free of charge.
