Service standards are exceedingly high, and guest satisfaction is paramount. The rooms are large, as can be expected from a building that was designed to house upscale apartments.

The hotel offers the chance to see many Washington politicos and dignitaries, along with stars from the Kennedy Center, in Jeffrey’s, the sister of the famed Austin, Texas restaurant. • Jeffrey’s - Jeffrey’s is known for its spectacular view of the Potomac River and the equally spectacular food and service. Tables are set with crisp white linens, and the nearly wall-size windows are framed with a palate of colors ranging from beige to mauve. It’s the sister restaurant of Jeffrey’s in Austin, Texas, and yes, it’s a “hot spot” with the First Couple. Among the signature dishes are Crispy Texas Gulf Coast Oysters on yucca root chips with habanero honey aioli and Roasted Texas Hill Country Quail stuffed with cornbread. Save room, though, for the Chocolate Intemperance Cake with gold-dusted berries. Jeffrey’s is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and also features a pre-theater menu for those attending Kennedy Center events.
