What to expect: The resort resembles a gated residential community featuring 135 acres of pines, palms, weeping willows, ponds, fountains, waterfalls, and wandering ducks. Family activities run from morning to evening and include arts and crafts, crab racing, Ping-Pong and pool tournaments, casino night, children's parties, and teen parties.
• Amenity highlights: Scattered around the community are seven heated pools, eight spas, and five children's pools. Three of the pools are expansive, lagoon-style super pools containing waterfalls and are surrounded by spacious sundecks furnished with lounge chairs. Although it's never been tested, one huge spa reputedly can accommodate 100 soakers. One of the smaller pools includes a short water slide. Three fitness centers provide exercise equipment, with the main center containing sauna, steam room, massage room, and tanning rooms (fee charged for tanning).
